Headlamp, as the name suggests, the lamp worn on the head is a lighting tool to liberate both hands. When we are walking at night, if we hold a flashlight, one hand can’t be empty. In this way, we can’t deal with accidents in time. Therefore, a good headlight is what we should have when we walk at night. In the same way, when we set up camp at night, wearing headlights can make our hands free to do more things.

          Common batteries for headlights
          1. Alkaline battery is the most commonly used battery. Its electric energy is higher than that of lead battery. It cannot be charged. When it is at low temperature 0f, it has only 10% ~ 20% power, and the voltage will be significantly reduced.
          2. Lithium battery: its electric energy is two times higher than that of ordinary batteries. The electric energy of a lithium battery is more than twice that of an alkaline battery. It is especially practical at high altitude.
Three important performance indexes of headlamp
As an outdoor headlamp, it must have the following three important performance indicators:
        1. Waterproof. It is inevitable to encounter rainy days when camping, hiking or other night operations are carried out outdoors. Therefore, the headlights must be waterproof. Otherwise, the short circuit of the circuit will be caused in case of rain or water immersion, resulting in extinction or flickering, which will cause potential safety hazards in the dark. Then, when purchasing headlights, you must see whether there is a waterproof mark, and it must be greater than the waterproof grade above ixp3. The larger the number, the better the waterproof performance (the waterproof grade is not described here).

         2. Fall resistance: a headlamp with good performance must have fall resistance (impact resistance). The general test method is to fall freely at a height of 2 meters without any damage. In outdoor sports, it may slip due to loose wearing and other reasons. If the shell cracks, the battery falls off or the internal circuit fails due to falling, even looking for the fallen battery in the dark is a very terrible thing, Therefore, such headlights must be unsafe. Therefore, when purchasing, you should also see whether there is a fall resistance sign, or ask the shopkeeper about the fall resistance of the headlights.
          3. Cold resistance is mainly aimed at outdoor activities in northern areas and high altitude areas, especially the headlights of split battery boxes. If inferior PVC wire headlights are used, it is likely that the wire skin will harden and become brittle due to cold, resulting in the breaking of internal wire core. Therefore, if outdoor headlights are to be used at low temperature, we must pay more attention to the cold resistance design of products.

         Selection skills of headlights
It is suggested that the following order can be considered for the selection of lamps:
         Reliable – Lightweight – function – upgrade – supply – appearance – price
The specific explanation is to pursue the maximum lightness and sufficient functions under the condition of ensuring sufficient reliability. Consider whether there is the possibility of upgrading. It is convenient to buy spare bulbs and batteries, and the appearance and technology are as good as possible. The reason why I put the price last is because I think it is worth every penny to buy the most expensive things, and it is the most economical to spend more money in exchange for an additional 1% safety factor in outdoor sports. Therefore, try to establish your own purchase principles, and you can find your ideal lamps.
